Inherit the WindBased on the famous Scopes "monkey" trial, this drama focuses on the trial of a young schoolteacher charged with illegally teaching the theory of evolution in the heavily fundamentalist South of the 1920s. Two former friends – agnostic Henry Drummond and true believer Matthew Harrison Brady, a three-time Presidential nominee – square off as legal adversaries in a battle so ferocious that the accused and his crime pale by comparison. This work has been hailed as one of the great American plays of the 20th century, with its themes of religious belief, tolerance, and freedom of thought that resonates to the present day.

Produced by arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.
