In this send-up of the old Universal monster movies, Baron Victor
von Frankenstein tries, against all odds to perfect his “creation”.
Unfortunately his only “success” to date is a mute monster
who can double as a lamp. Adding to his misery is his inept assistant
Igor, a terrifying German housekeeper, and his wife who is tired
of the gloom and constant rain. To make matters worse, an odd assortment
of “guests” arrives at his castle to remove their various
curses – Count Dracula and his beautiful-but-bored vampire
fiance, the Wolfman, and the Phantom of the Opera. This ridiculously
horrific comedy is sure to be more treat than trick.
5 men, 4 women
by Steve Martin
Directed by Jeff Groh
February 29 – March 8, 2008
In a pre-war Paris bistro, two of the century’s greatest figures
meet - painter Pablo Picasso and physicist Albert Einstein. Both
are on the verge of realizing their greatest achievements. They
exchange views on painting, love, life, the universe, and everything
else, assisted by an eclectic collection of bar regulars, the bistro
owner, his mistress, and various folks dropping in for a refreshing
drink. This is the first stage play written by comedian Steve Martin.
7 men, 3 women
by Robert E. Lee and Jerome Lawrence
Directed by Tom Durkin
May 2– 10, 2008
Based on the famous Scopes “monkey”
trial, this drama focuses on the trial of a young schoolteacher
charged with illegally teaching the theory of evolution in the heavily
fundamentalist South of the 1920s. Two former friends – agnostic
Henry Drummond and true believer Matthew Harrison Brady, a three-time
Presidential nominee – square off as legal adversaries in
a battle so ferocious that the accused and his crime pale by comparison.
This work has been hailed as one of the great American plays of
the 20th century, with its themes of religious belief, tolerance,
and freedom of thought that resonates to the present day.
21 men, 6 women, 2 boys, 1 girl,
extras (many parts can be doubled)
