TDW Delivers at OCTAfest 2005

At the 2005 Southwest Regional OCTAfest, TDW received a fifth straight invitation to the State OCTAfest on Labor Day weekend. 14 groups from all over the area gathered at the Miami/Hamilton campus on June 23rd through the 25th for a weekend showcase of one of the strongest areas of community theater in the country. The Drama Workshop staged an excerpt of Deliver Us Not!. On Saturday night, a grand banquet was held at the Springdale Best Western Main Ballroom, which was followed by the annual ACT Orchid awards ceremony. The Drama Workshop received multiple awards for all 3 of its shows this past season. Below is a complete list of award winners.

Veteran TDW member Ginny Chizer was also recognized with the President's Award for her contributions to the 50th Anniversary of the Cincinnati chapter of the Association of Community Theaters (ACT). Ginny was part of a group of folks recognized with staging the very successful anniversary celebration. Ginny's contributions were organizing a celebratory dinner/dance at the The Meadows in Addyston, and assisting in the selection of the commerative items sold by ACT.

TDW member and Director Tom Fox was also presented the Art Rouse Award for his contributions for many theaters around town.
