TDW
seeking directors for 2005-06 season
The Drama Workshop is pleased to invite all interested persons to interview for the position of director for a production in our 2005-2006 season. Below you will find a list of plays that are under consideration by the TDW board for the upcoming season. At this time a venue for the 2005-2006 season has not been secured, but performing at the Westwood Town Hall location is our intention. We are anticipating doing Fall, Winter, and Spring shows, but until our venue is resolved, that is subject to change.
Our play selection process this year will be conducted in a different order than in years past. This year The Drama Workshop Board will conduct director interviews in advance of choosing the plays for the season. In the recent past, TDW has interviewed and chosen directors following the final selection of plays.
We are asking that interested potential directors attend a scheduled 30 minute interview bringing with them the following information:
- Your current theatre resume, including any directing experience, and contact information.
- Your thoughts and visions about how the plays of interest to you (from the following list) may be staged; including but not limited to: concepts, challenges, staging, set, costumes, lighting, casting, etc.
- Tech people that you might provide to work on the show (i.e. producer, stage manager, set designer, etc)
- Questions about what you can expect from TDW.
- Times of the year that you are able to direct. Include your availability for summer auditions.
Interviews will be conducted mid February of 2005. Should you wish
to schedule an interview, please contact Gretchen Roose at 513.777.9962
or at GRoose1876@aol.com
by Monday, February 7, 2005. An E-mail or letter summarizing / detailing
your response(s) is encouraged, but not required. We cannot interview
any prospective director who has not called for an interview time
slot.
Our board strongly encourages your attendance at our open board meeting on Thursday, January 13, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at Mercy Western Hills HealthPlex conference room A. Entrance is the second driveway on Boudinot, at the light, across from Dater Montessori School. Cross street is Queen City Avenue. At that time, all of the plays on the list will be discussed in an open dialogue
with the membership and the board.
The Drama Workshop board will vote on the shows to be performed in the 2005– 2006 season following the scheduled director interviews. It is our intention to select the plays and directors in March, 2005. We will consider the
information you provide to select a well-rounded season as well as a qualified slate of directors. We encourage you to read all of the plays under consideration. Should you need help obtaining copies, let me know.
